Andy's CarPlayer

I am an undergraduate student at Coventry Univerity where I am reading Multimedia and Web Technology - Currently just completing the second physical year of a 4 ½ year course.

I first started writing this application in 1998 as I couldn't find a decent player for mp3 tracks. At the same time, I was starting to learn Linux and wanted to find a way to learn C - I suppose I could have found an easier way to learn, but then I never do anything the easy way ;-)

The player has gone through many incarnations - a tower PC sitting in the boot, to a home-brew box to its current Mini-ITX M10000 mobo in a Travla C134 case. I am currently running Ubuntu on it, but it has had Red Hat, Mandrake and Debian as well.
They all run really well, but I happen to quite like the Ubuntu flavour of Debian

As well as C, I have taught myself Perl, PHP, HTML and css, and MySQL. I am studying at Uni to consolidate these languages, and to introduce other skills such as flash and graphical image manipulation through the likes of Gimp and PhotoShop.
